AVELING AND PORTER ROAD TRACTOR

Thomas Aveling along with Richard Porter founded their company in 1858. They were pioneers in the field of steam road haulage and were the originators of the modern "horn plate" traction engine. Aveling-Barford were the direct descendants of the original company and continued for many years producing heavy earth moving equipment, although not at the original works. The A&P factory became the home for Wingets, manufacturers of plant and equipment for the construction industry.

This model is one quarter full size, as such it is a large and powerfull engine capable of holding its own on the rally field with its full sized brothers. It stands 3ft 6" long, 2ft 6" tall and weights 2 1/2 cwt.
